What does the Judgement Tarot Card mean?

Five of Pentacles Tarot Card Meaning

Element: Earth

Function: Belongings, wealth, tangible objects, practicality

The two people in the card both look poor, the man is sick, and the woman is underfed. Neither of them is wearing shoes, only the man has crutches to support him walking as they walk across the snow-covered ground. The man has a bell around his neck, similar to a leaper. Despite this, they are two of the most vibrantly dressed in the tarot cards. They are both wearing blue, green, and yellow, the colors of serenity, spirituality, and higher mind. The woman also has an orange robe, the color of enthusiasm.

He looks up to the heavens while she looks down at the earth, both could be praying, perhaps even for the harsh snow to stop falling. It seems like their situation is desperate but the bright lights coming from the stained-glass window of a church behind them show that there is still hope. Maybe they will go into the church and ask for the help that is on offer.

The five pentacles are in the stained-glass window, interestingly shaped as if on a tree which represents fertility and wisdom, they are stacked in a tower which shows stability and fortitude. There are red flowers among the green leaves showing signs of life and magic. All of this though is just a picture, and the couple is faced with the reality of the cold snow.

This is the first card in this suit that points to a life of struggling without material things and wealth. When this card is drawn, it doesn’t just mean poverty, it points a great loss of them and a severe need for them. This card could point to a devastating financial or personal loss that sets you back in life.

It may also imply that your ego has had a devastating blow. You may not be able to fend for yourself and you may have to depend on the generosity of others. The praying couple could be looking for divine intervention. It is possible that, just unlike the church, there won’t be people nearby that are willing to help. This card warns that it isn’t the luxuries in life that you will be without, it will be the essentials.

When Reversed:

Upturned, this card means that you have survived this difficult time of lacking and are now heading to a better time in your life. It may not all be over, but you are so close.

On the other hand, you might be having difficulties letting go of this feeling of deprivation despite it being unnecessary. You are still leading a life where the purse strings are tighter, and you haven’t learnt how to live a little and enjoy things. This problem could be extreme enough that you are forcing your family members to live the same way.

You may have had moments of poverty in your past and this stopped you from doing things that you wanted to. This may have led you to set up barriers that need to be taken down. This past may have made you more grateful for what you have now, a lovely trait for everyone to see.

Life may be challenging right now, and you are struggling to see the light. If you feel like you are struggling, it is important to ask others for help. Even just talking about your problems can make a difference. There is a bigger picture to be seen, even if it takes others to help you see it.

There will be a battle ahead and you will triumph. You may need to make some significant changes to be able to benefit in the future. Remember that that which is helping you now won’t be around forever.
