What does the Judgement Tarot Card mean?

King of Cups Tarot Card Meaning

Element: Water

Function: Feelings, love, spirituality, creativity

The King of Cups sits on a stone throne surrounded by water, as if an island. The water is rough and not even the ship or the fish can remain still. Despite this, he remains sat in his throne. He looks straight into the distance with the cup in his right hand. In his left, he holds a wand or a scepter. The fish to his left is a symbol of imagination and emotions, balanced out by the red ship on the right, red being the color of passion and magic, a sign that action and inspiration are required to make something happen. The King is not fazed by the objects around him. Maybe he is the image of Poseidon, the god of the sea, who also isn’t moved by his creation.

The King of Cups is wearing a blue robe, the color that represents the spirit. His yellow clock is the color of intelligence and has strips of red to show his passion. This is a well-balanced man who is full of potential and a world of possibilities, yet he remains calm. He has command of his feelings and imagination, and this means he is able to weather the storm. Not only this, but as a master of his emotions, he knows just how to direct them, so may even be the storm.

He remains pulled together, not in denial of his feelings, on the contrary, he is fully aware of them and doesn’t let them take control over him. Neither does he try to suppress them. He appreciates the power they have, and he knows that with them, he is able to move things. He can turn his desires into reality.

The King of Cups is not threatened by others, he is fair and forging, a diplomat. He will consider other people’s feelings before coming to conclusions. He is strong in his decision and won’t let the feelings of others affect his decision. He is calm and stable in the midst of his own storm or someone else’s.
