What does the Judgement Tarot Card mean?

King of Pentacles Tarot Card Meaning

Element: Earth

Function: Belongings, wealth, tangible objects, practicality

The King is looking down as he sits on a black throne. He has a scepter in his right hand and a pentacle rest under his hand on his knee. He looks over his pentacle with caution. His throne is somewhere high up on the ledge of a building. His wealth and stability is represented by the castle and the mountains behind him

There are plants growing all around his throne, but it is impossible if they are growing from it or towards it. We are intentionally left wondering whether the grapes are part of the plant or a pattern on his robe. The King doesn’t want us to know the answer but instead, he wants you to think that they are one of the same thing. Both his throne and robe are black, a color of seriousness. Everything that grows in the darkness leads back to death, but the King doesn’t fear this if this is what he needs to do.

There are a silver and gold oxen decorating the throne. This is a sign that the King is hard-hearted and stubborn. He will never retire from his position; his stubbornness won’t allow it. He also wears a red headscarf and he has flowers in his crown, symbols of passion and fertility, respectively. He enjoys being active and throughout his life, he has successfully gained plenty of wealth and now he can take pleasure in the advantage of this. His foot is covered in armor and perches on the head of a lion, a sign of the King’s pride.

The King of Pentacles is dependable, logical, robust and steady. He never loses control of his emotions but instead, he keeps moving forward. He has the ability to change if needs must. He knows that his ego is not his prosperity because he has true wealth. Some may think he is arrogant but in fact, he is closer to humble. He values himself not because he is the King but because he had been productive and gathered his riches.

This card suggests that we must do whatever needs to be done so that we can become successful and lead others. It is a sign that if you want to acquire material wealth, you need to have order and control over yourself, especially if you want to maintain your wealth.

When Reversed:

You will find that you don’t have enough stamina or self-esteem. You are grasping at what you think is right when you should be looking for ways to change so that you can resolve your issues. You place too much importance in your intelligence and pride, and you aren’t able to understand why others create the wrong opinion of you.

You might be talking the talk but not walking the walk because you are too afraid to do anything. You are lacking proof of your abilities. It could also imply that you are making emotional mountains out of molehills so that others are distracted from your flaws and failures.

It is probably that you were cautious in your past and preferred to take your time to consider all of your options. It could have been that you were far more grown-up than others your age and you handled responsibility well.

You will need to ask the people in your life for some counsel and it could be someone who plays a fatherly role. Listen very carefully to what they have to say, even if they haven’t followed their own advice. At the same time, the person with the advice could be you.

You will likely be happy with your life if you are keen to work for it. Don’t just focus on financial success because it is more about reaching your potential. You will need passion, efforts, and talent. It’s a good card if you are considering starting a business.
