Psychics are individuals who have been gifted with extrasensory perception (ESP), which is buried deep within the spirit. This special intuition grants such people the ability to solve dozens of personal issues and give feedback to their clients through a wide range of readings.

Being a “super-feeler” is not an easy job at all. Although some might think that psychics are gifted and live a happy life, this might not be even close to reality. This supernatural gift requires great patience, continuous practice, and, more importantly, the ability to interpret the feelings in the right way.

Since there are different types of issues and methodologies that can be used for solving the problems, not every psychic specializes in one particular field. Instead, the sort of psychics is diverse and it all depends on the nature of techniques that are being used to contemplate the readings.

In this article, I will provide some of the common types of psychics, including the following:

  • Astrologers
  • Cartomancers
  • Clairvoyants
  • Numerologists
  • Palm Readers
  • Crystallomancy Practitioners
  • Lithomancy Practitioners
  • Psychometry Readers

If you want to know what they do and how they provide feedback that can solve various issues, read on!

Despite the fact that some consider Astrology as a wholly separate pseudoscience, it can be viewed as a part of divinatory practices. If we translate the Greek word “astrologia,” we get the definition of “the study of stars.”  The term was consequently changed to “star divination.”

Individuals specializing in astrology are referred to as astrologers. What astrologers do is that they observe celestial objects and provide predictions considering their position and movement patterns.

Astrologers describe personalities and provide general advice based on stellar observations. The predictions that they issue are commonly known as horoscopes, which are personalized according to the specific birth dates.

Cartomancy readings are widely spread across the globe. This is a fortune-telling technique by means of a card deck. Cartomancy practitioners are referred to as cartomancers or simply card readers. The name of such readers depends on the type of deck that is being used for divination. In any case, the readings are affected by the meaning of a particular card, its position, and adjacent cards.

The most widespread deck that is used for cartomancy readings is the Tarot, a deck of 78 distinct cards, which is divided into two sets: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana, consisting of 22 and 56 cards, respectively. Tarot readers use the Major Arcana cards to provide feedback on spiritual events of life. In contrast, the Minor Arcana cards are implemented when the client is willing to receive readings about day-to-day situations and personal characteristics.

While astrologers depend on the position of celestial objects and cartomancers manipulate card decks to provide the readings, clairvoyants use their own feelings and perception to uncover some aspects of your future. The term “clairvoyance” is derived from French and can be translated as “clear vision.” The possibility of the phenomenon of seeing, hearing, and feeling certain information about someone’s future is being explored by Parapsychology.

These paranormal abilities to read aura allow clairvoyants to do three main things: predict future, perceive past circumstances, and see current events that are occurring away from the range of perception.

The pseudoscience that studies the links between numbers and life events is known as Numerology, while its practitioners are referred to as numerologists. Numbers are also used to evaluate the letters in particular names and words. The paranormal ability to interpret numerical patterns allows the numerologists to perceive past occurrences or predict future events.

Numerologists do not rely on a specific method. Instead, there are different systems used to identify a connection between numbers and letters. Some of the standard systems include Pythagorean, Chaldean, Latin Alphabet, and Abjad systems.

Numerology might also be region-specific. For instance, Chinese people consider different combinations of numbers and letters and use distinct meanings for each.

Palm Readers

One of the well-known pseudosciences for fortune-telling is known as Palmistry, a technique that uses palm readings to predict life events. The term can also be interpreted as Chiromancy.

Palm readers or Palmists are individuals who possess skills to provide valid feedback according to the palm readings. The practice of palm reading varies from region to region due to some cultural alterations. Generally speaking, palmists evaluate the “lines” and “mounts” on an individual’s palm and identify his/her characteristics or incidents they might face in the future.

Crystallomancy Practitioners

Another type of psychic can be considered to be a crystallomancer, a person practicing Crystallomancy, also known as crystal gazing. Crystallomancers use specialized crystals and shiny gemstones to look into and interpret various visions linked with an individual and his/her future. In some cases, there might be a mirror or any transparent object instead of a crystal or a gemstone. But still, the most common tool for Crystallomancy is a clear ball-shaped crystal.

Lithomancy Practitioners

Lithomancy is yet another pseudoscience incorporating the use of stones for divinatory purposes. Individuals specializing in this area are commonly known as lithomancers. The number of stones implemented during the process is undetermined and varies from one to tens or even hundreds of stones.

The way the predictions are made is typically affected by the orientation of the stones as they fall after they are tossed on a specialized board. In most of the cases, each stone represents one of the personal characteristics, feelings, or celestial objects, including love, fortune, the moon, the sun, or various planets.

Psychometry Readers

If you want a medium to obtain readings through physical contact, you might want to address Psychometry readers. Such readers receive information by touching objects of an individual or the person itself.

How Psychometry readings work is that the objects carry a particular person’s energy and characteristics, which can be later used for divinatory practices. This method allows the reader to not only predict the future but also learn more about the owners of particular items.
